Applique projects by default

Three weeks ago I had surgery, so I have been very limited in my activities. I have not been able to sit at my sewing machine, so I have not really had anything to post about. The only quilting projects I have been able to work on are some applique blocks. My progress is slow, as I really am not normally patient enough for hand work. But at least I am working on a quilt.
I am taking a class at a local quilt quilt store to make a floral applique quilt. I am the only student in the class, so I have my own personal instructor! I only go once a month, but I am happy to say that I really am improving. Carol had been so sweet to to do this for me. I am sure anyone else would have just cancelled the class due to not enough students.
