In my last post I mentioned the hand work I have been doing in an applque class. I am happy to say that I have finally completed the first four blocks of the series. And if the truth is being told, I will admit to enjoying the hand stitching for a change. I may even consider trying some different applique projects in the future-shocking!

The pattern I am using is designed for using wool, for a really primative folksy feel. I am using thirties reproduction fabrics for my version. I think it gives the blocks a cheerful look.

I have decided to be truely brave and share pics of my blocks with you. They are not perfect, but I am happy with them. The first block I did is the Rose, followed by the Sunflower. My third block was the Lily pad and my most recent is the Morning Glory block.

Wow, you are doing a great job with the applique! The vintage inspired fabrics go really well with the theme.
